Best Math Tuition Singapore Lesson 27

LESSON 28 SYNOPSIS (23 Jun – 29 Jun 2025)

23 June 2025

At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.

Primary 1 Lesson 28

We will delve deeper into “Numbers to 100, Lesson 2“.

This lesson takes a focused approach by centring on problem sums that revolve around the concept of “Part and Whole”. Students will understand how to break down complex problems into manageable components through these scenarios.

This lesson will also introduce data analysis questions designed to challenge and expand the children’s logical reasoning capabilities. This infusion of data-driven problem-solving aims to foster a well-rounded skill set.

Primary 2 Lesson 28

This week, we will continue with Money Lesson 3.

This lesson will mainly focus on problem sums that involve both Quantity and Value. While most students are comfortable with questions that involve just one concept, either quantity or value, we’re now heading into a more complex area that combines both.

Money intrinsically includes elements of both quantity (for instance, the number of coins or notes) and value (the worth of these coins or notes). This intersection of quantity and value is often tested in problem sums.

Primary 3 Lesson 28

This week, we are excited to start a new topic: Measurement. In this lesson, students will learn the fundamentals of measuring various quantities. Our key focus areas will be:

  • Conversion of Units:

Understanding and converting between different units of mass, length, and volume.

  • Basic Operations:

Performing basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with measurements of mass, length, and volume.

  • Problem sums:

Additionally, we will work on solving practical problems that involve measurements.

Primary 4 Lesson 28

This week, we will be embarking on a new topic: Decimals.

During this lesson, we plan to introduce and cover the basics of Decimals, which include the following:

  • Place Values of Decimals.
  • Conversion of Decimals to Fractions and Vice Versa.
  • Comparing and Ordering of Decimals.
  • Basic 4 Operations of Decimals.

Decimals are a vital component of mathematics and understanding them is crucial for the students’ ongoing math education. We aim to ensure our students build a strong foundation in this area for further advanced studies.

Primary 5 Lesson 28

In Lesson 28, we will be covering four of the most commonly tested pattern concepts, all of which are important for developing logicalthinking and exam readiness.
The four key types of pattern problems we will focus on are:
  • Patterns Involving Groupings of Repeated Patterns
– Identifying repeating units and using grouping strategies to find specific terms or positions.

  • Patterns Involving the Interval Concept

– Understanding patterns that grow or change at regular intervals.

  • Patterns Involving Square Numbers
– Recognising and applying the properties of square numbers within patterns.

  • Patterns Involving Tables
– Using tabular formats to organise information, observe trends, and solve pattern problems systematically.

Primary 6 Lesson 28

Next week, we will continue our PSLE Revision series with Lesson 2.

In this lesson, we will systematically review and practice various topics, concepts, and problem-solving methods commonly tested in the PSLE. Our focus will be reinforcing the students’ understanding, improving their problem-solving skills, and building their confidence as they prepare for the upcoming examination.

It is crucial for students to actively engage in the revision process and complete the assigned additional practice exercises. These exercises are designed to align with the PSLE format and requirements, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the types of questions they may encounter and practice applying their knowledge and skills effectively.
