At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.
Primary 1 Lesson 23
For Lesson 23, we will continue with our topic, “Numbers to 40.”
In our previous lesson, we focused on the arithmetic of addition involving numbers up to 40, where we applied the concept of place values of Tens and Ones. As we progress further, our focus for the upcoming week will shift towards the arithmetic of subtraction.
Through this comprehensive approach, we are nurturing a well-rounded understanding of these crucial mathematical operations in our students. It’s our aim that these lessons will bolster their skills, confidence, and familiarity with numbers up to 40.
Primary 2 Lesson 23
During this revision, we will revisit previously taught topics and concepts, including Operations, Length, Interval concepts, and Whole Numbers. Specifically, we will focus on comparing whole numbers by both quantity and units. We aim to provide your child with a comprehensive review of these key concepts and further enhance their understanding.
Primary 3 Lesson 23
This week, we will introduce the basic operations relating to fractions.
In this lesson, we will cover
- Simplification of fractions.
- Ordering and comparison of fractions with different denominators.
- Addition and subtraction of fractions with different denominators.
Primary 4 Lesson 23
This week, we will continue with Fractions, Lesson 5.
We will focus on comparing quantities and units.
Our students have previously learned how to compare quantities and units under Whole Numbers. In these forthcoming lessons, we will extend this concept to include Fractions, which will broaden their understanding and application of these mathematical principles.
Primary 5 Lesson 23
This week, we will be introducing a new topic: “Rate.”
“Rate” is a concept commonly tested under the topic of “Volume.” However, in this lesson, we will cover rate questions that involve volume and explore rate questions that do not directly relate to volume.
Students will learn about the rate concept and its applications during this lesson. We will discuss how the rate is a measure of change over time. Students will explore rate questions that involve volume, such as the rate of flow of liquid, and rate questions that do not specifically relate to volume, such as a measure of quantity change over time.
Primary 6 Lesson 23
This week marks the final lesson in our unit on Speed. In this lesson, students will learn how to apply Ratio concepts to solve speed-related problem sums.
This is an important skill, as using ratios can greatly simplify the process of solving more complex speed questions. Mastery of this method will enhance students’ efficiency and accuracy when tackling such problems in exams.
