LESSON 22 SYNOPSIS (12 May – 18 May 2025)

The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.

Primary 1 Lesson 22

This week, we are excited to introduce a new topic: “Numbers to 40.”

The students will learn how to write numbers up to forty in words, which will help enhance their understanding of number representation.

Additionally, we will focus on arithmetic operations involving numbers up to 40, particularly addition.

The students will also be encouraged to apply their knowledge of place values (tens and ones) when solving arithmetic problems.

Primary 2 Lesson 22

We will dedicate time to revise the following areas:

Operations: Strengthening students’ understanding of basic mathematical operations.
Comparison Concept: Revisiting the idea of comparing quantities, sizes, and values to help students grasp the notion of greater than, less than, and equal to.
Interval Concept: Reinforcing the understanding of intervals, including the concepts of time, distance, and other measurable quantities.
Length: Solidifying students’ knowledge of length measurements and related problem-solving skills.

Primary 3 Lesson 22

In this lesson, we will be introducing the fundamentals of geometry, focusing on four key areas to build a strong foundation in spatial reasoning and geometric understanding:

Identifying and Constructing Parallel Lines
Identifying and Constructing Perpendicular Lines
Counting Angles in Geometric Figures
Recognising Types of Angles, including Right Angles

This lesson sets the stage for more advanced geometry topics in the future and helps students develop precision and confidence in working with shapes and lines.

Primary 4 Lesson 22

This week, we’ll continue with Geometry 2 and focus on angles. Here’s what we’ll be covering:

Angles at a point.
Angles involving properties of squares and rectangles.
Reading the Compass.

Primary 5 Lesson 22

In this revision lesson, we will continue to revisit previously taught topics and concepts, including:

Equivalent proportion
Fractions (Remainder Theory)
Shortage and surplus
Quantity and value
Geometry

We aim to provide your child with a comprehensive review of these key concepts and further enhance their understanding.

Primary 6 Lesson 22

In addition to continuing our revision of previously taught topics and concepts, we will be focusing higher-order concepts related to:

Whole numbers
Fractons
Percentage
Pattern
