PRIMARY 3 MATH SYLLABUS

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

In Primary 3, your child will be able to:

  • Read and interpret bar graphs with different scales.
  • Work with whole numbers using number and place value knowledge, and compare and order.
  • Add and subtract using numbers with up to 4 digits, using written and mental methods.
  • Multiply and divide (tables 6-9) and solve problems with 3-digit by 1-digit divisors.
  • Add and subtract money using decimal notation.
  • Measure length in km/ml, convert units of length, mass and capacity, and calculate using compound units.
  • Tell the time using the 24-hour clock and calculate the duration of time periods in seconds.
  • Identify and measure angles, identify parallel/perpendicular lines, calculate area and perimeter.
