At Matrix Math, we provide an engaging and detailed learning experience for your child. Matrix Math Tuition programme focuses on essential concepts that will further strengthen their mathematical foundation. The lesson synopsis gives parents a clear preview of the topics and problem-solving skills that will be covered in class. At Matrix Math, we ensure that each lesson is designed to build confidence and mastery in math, preparing students for success in both school and beyond.
Primary 1 Lesson 29
We will continue exploration of “Numbers to 100” in Lesson 29.
During this upcoming session, our primary focus will be problem sums that revolve around comparison. We will teach our students the skills to tackle various problem sum variations involving comparison effectively. These scenarios can range from identifying differences to determining the group with the larger or smaller value.
Primary 2 Lesson 29
This week, we will be continuing with our topic, “Money 4”.
Our focus will be on revising and consolidating the concepts that were covered in the past three lessons on the topic of Money. We understand the importance of reinforcing and solidifying the students’ understanding of this fundamental topic.
Through revision, we aim to strengthen their knowledge of various aspects of money, such as writing money in words and value, comparing and ordering, conversion, and denomination. Additionally, we will revisit and review the problem sums involving money that were previously covered.
Primary 3 Lesson 29
This week, we will continue with our topic on Measurement by delving deeper into problem sums related to this concept. Our lesson will focus on four key types of problem sums:
- Repeat Application:
Understanding problems where the total measurement is repeatedly applied.
- Interval concept:
Solving problems that involve working forward or backward through intervals. We will also learn to apply interval measurements repeatedly to find solutions.
Primary 4 Lesson 29
This week, we will focus on the application of decimals in heuristic problem sums.
During this lesson, we will cover several concepts that the students are already familiar with from our previous lessons, but we will now apply them specifically to decimals. These concepts include:
- Part and Whole
- Indirect Repeat Application
- Interval Concept
- Supposition Method
By applying these concepts to decimals, we aim to strengthen students’ problem-solving skills and deepen their understanding of decimal numbers.
Primary 5 Lesson 29
- Express part of a whole as a percentage.
- Convert between fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Finding the percentage of a quantity.
- Using the unitary method
- Finding percentage increase and decrease
Primary 6 Lesson 29
Next week, we will continue with PSLE Revision Lesson 3.
This lesson will involve a systematic review and practice of essential topics, concepts, and problem-solving methods commonly tested in the PSLE. We aim to strengthen students’ understanding, problem-solving abilities, and confidence as they prepare for the upcoming examination.
Active participation and completing the assigned additional practice exercises are crucial for effective revision. These exercises are designed to align with the PSLE requirements, providing students with valuable exposure to the types of questions they may encounter and opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills effectively.
