One of the more challenging P5 question involving Whole Numbers:
Peter put a total of 2250 paper cranes into 5 blue bottles and 2 green bottles. The total number of paper cranes in the green bottles was twice the total number of paper cranes in the blue bottles. There were an equal number of paper cranes in each of the blue bottles. The first green bottle contained 3 times as many paper cranes as the second green bottle.
(a) How many paper cranes were there in each blue bottle?
(b) How many paper cranes were there in the first green bottle?
(a) 2250 ÷ 3 = 750
750 ÷ 5 = 150
(b) 750 x 2 = 1500
1500 ÷ 4 = 375
375 x 3 = 1125
