How to solve Remainder Theory problem sums?
Remainder Theory Concept is first introduced at Primary 4. Below is an example of a typical Remainder Theory question.
Peter bought a book to read. He read 2⁄5 of the book on Monday, 1⁄4 of the remainder on Tuesday and the remaining 45 pages on Wednesday. How many pages does the book have?
Solution.
45 ÷ 3 = 15
15 x 4 = 60
60 ÷ 3 = 20
20 x 5 = 100
Answer: 100 pages
